ok adk2009 $65 an hour is what i pay now. I pay a co-pay of 20 dollars.
I know people can use the help, my worry is how do they pay for it. Lots of people out there that are on a strict income.
thanks for answering
Remember all you need to do is like this post on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/supportgroups/posts/135891639833149 to be entered to win the $25 credit to Online Counseling
Adk, I am so excited about the $25 credit opportunity and very much appreciate all that this Site is doing for us, thank you! And, I know that Online Counseling is already helping so many users here who I have been interacting with. This is such a great alternative to having to trek to a counselors office. I personally don't have time to do so and I have been super intimidated about going to a counselors office to begin with. So, for me, it's a win-win.
Picket, I am happy that you have the opportunity to go to a counselors office and that your insurance covers it, though many of us don't have that opportunity, so I am very grateful for online counseling here.
Offering coupons for counseling? I'm sorry, but to me, this dampens the professionalism greatly. I do hope that people can get help through these people, but I also have great doubts about keeping it all on the 'up and up'. There are so many requirements for professionals now, how can anyone truly check anyone out through online communication.
Not trying to sound cynical, but I am upset by other attempts I see to only get money from people. Credibility? I'm going to check this out further. Again, I hope some can get help. Thanks...Jan
Jan, the coupon thing is to get people to try online counseling, it's a marketing strategy that i use all the time to dig up new business.
adk, what Jan means by up and up IS IT LEGAL What i've found out so far is that you can only do business for pay in your own state or all the States you've taken the certification test for, the venue doesn't matter. If that's wrong ADK then please provide the pertinent governing law and it's number, it has to be a federal law i assume, governing tele-health as that is really what this amounts to. The last part that goes hand in hand is who is carrying the liability insurance? This is now a business and has to by law be treated as such. And has to follow all applicable laws. Business is business, and i'm very good.
The people who use this site deserve the answers. And not the incoherent gibberish i got about the pricing structure.
Tell these people the truth they deserve it.
I have been in communication with Vic about online counseling here and it is 100% legal. As well, all counselors go through a rigorous screening and interview process. The coupons are the Site's way of wanting to help users get going by offering them a $25 credit.
Support Groups is trying to help us here and there are already numerous users who have benefited from online counseling; most especially those who can't physically get to a counselor, are intimidated by the in-person process, or do not have appropriate qualified counselors locally. I am very grateful for the opportunity that we have been given here and appreciate this Site's efforts to continually help us.

What you don't realize is that most people don't have 2 to 3 bucks a minute to talk to someone. That comes out hour wise to $120 to $180 dollars an hour.
Your $25 dollar credit is only good for a little over 12 minutes or a little over 8 minutes.
And this is all without the overhead of a real office. So where are the savings? I for sure can't afford that kind of money. Who's carrying the liability insurance?
